December at the Story of Emily
For our Pass Holders; a Victorian Rectory dressed in hand-made finery, whimsical woodland dens in the grounds, a shop of thoughtful gifts and vouchers, and a special weekend of events.
bauble workshop
The Rectory is dressed for the season, glowing with Victorian Cornish charm and all the gentle sparkle of Christmas past. Children are invited to settle in at our cosy craft corner, where little hands can create their very own Christmas bauble using glitter, felt, and a sprinkle of imagination. The Letters to Lowen station offers a quiet moment to write or colour in a heartfelt note or Christmas wish. It’s a simple, joy-filled way for young visitors to add their own magic to the season.
Piskie Woodland Den
Children can enjoy whimsical woodland dens near the Rectory, where they can help Piskie Lowen to:
Decorate a Christmas tree
Explore Nature’s Christmas Den
and play in the Christmas Dinner Den.
Christmas Scavenger Hunt
Lowen, the pixie, has been very busy. He has wrapped five presents in his favourite festive paper and hidden them around the Rectory. He has topped each present with a small coin. This is a Victorian coin, believed to be so lucky that people used to bake them into their Christmas puddings. Find all five presents to win a Emily sticker and a touch of Victorian good luck for the year ahead!
Between chapters, get hands-on with a children’s marionette workshop. Festive touches include warm popcorn and mulled wine.
£5 supplement for workshop
