The Rectory
Explore Emily’s family home, the Victorian world of the Hobhouse family set in 1875. In this restored old house, where Emily lived from her birth until she was 34 years old, you can step back in time.
The restaurant
Architectural marvel and warm hospitality await you in the restaurant, where this story’s tie between South Africa and the late 1800s is further brought to life through the reimagining of heritage dishes. The menu is bound to introduce you to delicious dishes that you may never have tried before.
The War Rooms
Here we honour the extraordinary impact Emily had on events in the Second, Anglo-Boer War. You will experience installations, animations, films, virtual reality, and see décor, historical pictures, and original artefacts.
The grounds
A celebration of traditional gardening techniques that mirror how the garden would have been during Emily's childhood. Here you will also meet our estate animals and discover the unique viewpoint that stretches out across a Cornish landscape, barely changed since the time our story is set.
